Mardi Gras Library Closures

ALL Mobile Public Library locations will be closed Sunday, February 15 through Tuesday, February 17, 2026, for Mardi Gras.

Branch-Specific Closures:

  • Ben May Main Library will close early at 5 p.m. on the following parade days: January 30–31 and February 5–13, 2026. 
  • Ben May Main Library and Local History & Genealogy will be closed on Saturday, February 14. 
  • Trinity Gardens Community Library will be closed Sunday, February 15 through Sunday, February 22, 2026.

Jazz Art Writers South (J.A.W.S.) Festival proudly presents JAWS Youth Exhibit 2024, a collection of artworks.

Visit the West Regional Library to view this wonderful traveling exhibit from the 2024 JAWS Fest. The collection includes 42 paintings by children ages 8 - 18 who attend local public schools and/or are members of the Boys & Girls Club of South Alabama and ACCEL Academy. This collection was brought together with the Mobile Arts Council and the Mobile Art Association, which work with the youth to find inspiration in expressing their unique interpretations of jazz music on canvas! The exhibit debuted at the University of South Alabama Marx Library Art Gallery. It will be displayed at West Regional Library in the children's area for the entire month of August!
