Discover Your Ancestry Through Past Records.

Join us at the Local History & Genealogy Division of Mobile Public Library for a special workshop with the Mobile African American Genealogical & Historical Society to kick off the 2025 sessions! MAAGHS President Mary Jones-Fitts will take us back to the beginning with a 1-hour presentation on getting started in researching your ancestors, followed by a hands-on session using LHG’s unique resources to find records for your ancestors and maybe even break down some of those brick walls! Mrs. Jones-Fitts and LHG staff will be available to provide assistance and answer questions.

The beginning presentation will also be available via Zoom, and registration is required; please email etheris@mplonline.org to register and indicate if you will be attending in person or virtually. Participants are encouraged to bring a laptop or tablet if available.
