Mardi Gras Library Closures

ALL Mobile Public Library locations will be closed Sunday, February 15 through Tuesday, February 17, 2026, for Mardi Gras.

Branch-Specific Closures:

  • Ben May Main Library will close early at 5 p.m. on the following parade days: January 30–31 and February 5–13, 2026. 
  • Ben May Main Library and Local History & Genealogy will be closed on Saturday, February 14. 
  • Trinity Gardens Community Library will be closed Sunday, February 15 through Sunday, February 22, 2026.

The Friends of the Mobile Public Library Book Sale is back!

Join us on the last weekend of March for our Annual Book Sale held at the Greater Gulf State Fair at The Grounds, 1035 Cody Rd N, Mobile, AL! 

Admission on Saturday and Sunday is free, but the exclusive Friday Preview Sale is for Friends Members Only.

Memberships begin at $40 and are available at the door, but why wait?  Join online and be one of the first to start shopping! Become a Friend Now and help support the library year-round!

Exclusive Friends Members Only Preview Sale:

  • Friday, March 28, 3 – 7 p.m.

General Public Sale Days:

  • Saturday, March 29, 9 a.m. – 6 p.m.
  • Sunday, March 30, 1 – 6 p.m.

Special Pricing Details:

  • Friday & Saturday: $2 for Hardbacks & DVDs; $1 for Paperbacks, Audiobooks & Music.
  • Sunday:$1 for Hardbacks & DVDs; $0.50 for Paperbacks, Audiobooks & Music.
