Community Resources Guide

Rainbow Mobile is the heart and home for the LGBTQ+ community of Mobile & Baldwin Counties. All are welcome to access our variety of resources for individuals, youth, and families.

• Counseling - Free and confidential crisis counseling is provided to survivors of sexual violence. This is available for the survivor and their family, friends, intimate partners, or other secondary survivors.
• Legal Advocacy - If a client wishes to press charges against her/his assailant,our staff will serve as an advocate throughout the law enforcement and criminal justice proceedings.
• Forensic Examination, where do I go?

Services are free to low-income homeowners in Choctaw, Clarke,
Mobile, and Washington counties. Our client base is veterans, senior
citizens, those living with disabilities, and single-parent
households. our services are offered by volunteers-skilled and
unskilled.

Requirements are: must own the home (no rental property or heir
properties), have resided in the home for more than 3 years, and meet
our income requirements.

At ReStore you will find antiques, furniture, appliances, cabinets, doors, windows, flooring, plumbing, tools, garden, paint, and lighting. Inventory is donated by individuals, contractors, businesses, and wholesalers. ReStore profits helps Habitat for Humanity build affordable homes. 

Mission Statement: Stabilization of Displaced Persons.

We are a First Steps Program with the goal of getting men off the streets and into the kingdom!

•Our 1st step and number one goal is Stabilization. We will do this through providing housing, mental health care, rehabilitation, detox, and health care.

•Step 2 is Legalization. We will make sure they have all documentation (birth cert, ss card, ID, etc.) We will also handle legal issues such as probation, warrants, fines, etc.

Food Pantry: Every Monday and Wednesday from 8:30 A.M. - 10:30 A.M.

Free car seat check appointments provided by a nationally certified car seat safety technician.

The Salvation Army has rehabilitation, missing persons, adult rehabilitation center, disaster services, seasonal services, casework services, homemaker services, emergency shelter, visitation services, worship services, music & arts programs, community recreation programs, the pathway of hope, food pantry, alcohol, and drug
treatment, day camp activities

TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return) 

Program will loan traps and help neuter and ear tip cats at a low-cost clinic. 

We can only accept dogs under 50lbs, and family pets that are easily handled. We do not have the space for aggressive dogs or feral cats at this time.

SHELL Health is a clinic within AIDS Alabama South aimed at helping individuals take control of their sexual health in an uplifting, affirming, and radically inclusive environment.

Services Offered:

• HIV treatment and care
• Hepatitis C testing and treatment
• PrEP (Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis)
• PEP (Post-Exposure Prophylaxis)
• Sexually transmitted infection (STI) testing and treatment

Hours of Operation: Monday–Thursday, 9:00 A.M. – 4:00 P.M.;  Friday by appointment only 

Free Showers: 4:00 P.M. every Friday rides available upon request.

Our mission is to advocate for and enhance our membership’s ability to improve the quality of health, life, and services for individuals, families, and communities affected by sickle cell disease and related conditions while promoting the search for a cure for all people in the world with sickle cell disease. 

In addition to Mobile County, the SCDAA – Mobile Chapter serves eight additional counties in Alabama: Baldwin, Escambia, Choctaw, Clarke, Conecuh, Covington, Monroe, and Washington.

The Social Security Administration (SSA) is a U.S. government agency that administers social programs covering disability, retirement, and survivors' benefits, among other services. It is also responsible for issuing Social Security numbers and managing the program’s finances and trust fund.

The agency provides various services for older adults, persons with disabilities and caregivers.

Over 25 senior centers provide recreation, transportation to the center, and a midday meal; or home-delivered meals for the homebound.

This program is run by the Mobile Bar Association. 

volunteer lawyers donate their time to provide free legal services in certain civil matters (not criminal matters) to Mobile County residents.
