Impact America provides free tax preparation services for households earning up to $56,000 through their SaveFisrt program.

Call 888-998-2925 or go to impactamerica.com/freetaxprep to make an appointment. The locations available in Mobile to meet with your tax preparer are the Ben May Main Library and the West Regional Library.

Please bring the following documents with you to your appointment:

  • Social Security Card for you, your spouse, and everyone on the return, including children
  • a Photo ID for you and your spouse
  • Bank Account & Routing Number if you would like direct deposit
  • Prior Year Return (Preferred but not mandatory)
  • All tax forms you received (W-2s, 1099s, 1098s, 1095s, etc.)

Other Tax Prep Help Programs

Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA): Offers free tax help to people who generally make $56,000 or less, persons with disabilities and limited English speaking taxpayers who need assistance in preparing their own tax returns. IRS-certified volunteers provide free basic income tax return preparation with electronic filing to qualified individuals.

Tax Counseling for the Elderly (TCE): Offers free tax help for all taxpayers, particularly those who are 60 years of age and older, specializing in questions about pensions and retirement-related issues unique to seniors. The IRS-certified volunteers who provide tax counseling are often retired individuals associated with non-profit organizations that receive grants from the IRS.
